MENTORSHIP MATTERS

A note from Aubry: Growing up in Barbados was very frustrating as a youth. I couldn't speak at birth, my mind was always charged for change through the front window. The first voice I heard was my internal mind so I cultivated that with dreams of a glorious life. My voice deficit empowered my mind and I became a caring, loving person even though I didn't have parents to care for me. My elderly grandmother provided the honing for my mental toughness and for that I always told myself, if I had a mini-me I would have grown faster and stronger. My spirit empowered me to care for others; that being said I sought out people, strangers rather, who became mentors. Now it's my time to share my journey as a mentor - Everyday Lessons Encouraged Values and Aspirations Towards Economic-sustainability. To this end, the mentorship program evolved from a mute child who managed opportunities, garnering ultimate legacy (Mute to Mogul).

Follow those who I encourage towards economic sustainability.

My name is Oluwanifemi Alberta Olaitan, I am 15 yrs old. I have two siblings; a boy and girl, 8 and 11 yrs old respectively. I love singing, reading, taking walks and talking with my dog, and I also love sleeping.

I have so many dreams and ambitions like becoming a medical doctor, a model, a singer, a chef, a researcher, a fashion designer and a forex trader.

Becoming a singer, a researcher and a fashion designer is really just me wanting to make my hobbies into a professional thing.

The main reason I want to become a chef is because I'm a foodie and I want to be able to eat delicacies in the comfort of my home. I want to become a forex trader mainly because It brings in money.

I want to become a doctor to be able to mend the broken parts of the world with every patient I treat, and I want to become a model because I love modeling.

Intelligent, dedicated and multifaceted, are three words which accurately describe Simone Williams. This ambitious twenty-two-year-old has devoted most of her adolescent years to academics, public speaking, visual arts, modelling and pageantry.

From as early as her parents could remember, Simone has been quite the genius! Especially in the English language and the sciences. Upon entering secondary school, she broadened her knowledge by pursuing business subjects, communications and language subjects, various sciences, earth studies and a plethora of extracurricular activities. These activities include track and field, the choir, the art club, the dynamics speakers club and the St. Michael School model search of 2017. During her five years of secondary school, Simone has accomplished many achievements. Some of these accomplishments include; winning under 13 victrix ludorm in track and field, winning the 2017 US Embassy Superhero Art Contest, earning a silver on the school's debate team, representing her school and country regionally in public speaking and finally starting her modelling career.

Simone did not stop there, while continuing her modelling career, she perused a diploma in Horticulture and landscape maintenance which led to her employment at Royal West Moreland. Here she not only did garden care, but she learnt heavy machine operations and installed her first landscape design for a homeowner of the resort. During this time, this courageous young lady ventured into the pageant area, and it instantly became her passion. To date, Simone has competed in four pageants and has gained 3 titles,” Miss Barbados Caribbean 2019”, “Miss Single and Progressive 2023” and “Miss Barbados United Nations 2023”.

And again, she is not finished there. Her ambitions to become a serial entrepreneur continues to lead her on the path of learning and greater success. Standing on the philosophy, “Aspire to Inspire before you Expire”, Simone aims to become the first Barbadian to win a big four pageant, an internationally renowned model and actress, and a fine artist all while owning her own podcast and landscape design agency. With a focused mind, and faith in God, she aims to create a legacy where others can learn from her experiences and capitalize on the opportunities she plans to provide for other in modelling, pageantry and the arts.
